Success- the ADPi way

Coming to college, I knew that getting an education was my top priority. Going through recruitment was at the end of a long grocery list of expectations I had for myself. When last minute I decided to go through recruitment, I joined Alpha Delta Pi. During recruitment the women talked not only about the lasting and enduring friendships that they made, but the successes that they achieved as well, and the successes that they had because of the support system and push that they had from their sisters to succeed. Nearing the third year of my membership in Alpha Delta Pi, those ideals continue to ring true over and over again.

Growth is uncomfortable, but Alpha Delta Pi fostered my discomfort and made me feel comfortable in pushing my limits to reach my dreams. As a scared freshman in a new state, alone, and new level of school, I was terrified to branch out and test the waters. It was my sisters that pushed me to join a Leadership Program halfway into the fall semester of my freshman year. It was my sisters that continually checked in on me if I seemed overwhelmed or in too deep, and it was them that celebrated with me in my achievements.

The guiding push of my sisters did not stop there as they chose me as a leader of our own chapter as Vice President of Membership Experience. I felt honored to be seen and held to such a high esteem by them to run this crucial part of the chapter. That specific leadership role required dedication like none other. It was not only my dedication to the work and growth that I was able to have, but my sisters dedication to supporting me through kind words of feedback, showing up for me when I needed it, and holding me up when I was stressed. This role prepared me beyond my belief to become apart of the executive board of two other clubs inside my realm of studies. If freshman me would have seen myself now I know that she would have been so proud.

My story is just a small testimony that encompasses the hard work and dedication of all Alpha Delta Pi’s from being highly involved with countless organizations across campus such as DanceBlue, MEDLIFE, Student Government Association, Red Shoe Crew, PHIDE, KSIC, KY KRNL, and so many more. This involvement bolsters our future professional lives to the fullest extent, but it does not mean anything if we did not have our sisters around us. Our success is due to the love and support that our sisterhood is built from, and there is no stronger foundation than the bonds that have formed between all of the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi.

With love,
